We’ve recently supplied a marine spec Electrolux Professional warewasher to M/V Grampian Commander. Electrolux’s marine specific appliance was delivered last month while the vessel was in dock.
Built in 2005, the M/V Grampian Commander is a Standby Safety Vessel (SSV) and is owned by Craig & Sons Aberdeen UK.
It is a requirement for off shore fields to have an SSV as an Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV), constantly on standby to evacuate personnel from rigs and platforms in case of an emergency. The main requirements for an ERRV are:
– to rescue from water or recover personnel and provide them with medical aid
– be a “place of safety”
– to provide on-scene coordination
– to monitor the safety zone, including warning approaching vessels & the off shore installation, preventing the risk of collision
An ERRV should combine good manoeuvrability, enhanced survivor reception and medical after-care facilities, state-of-the-art navigational/communications equipment and rescue craft capable of operating in severe weather.
The Grampian Commander is operated by North Star Shipping and is now happily back in the North Sea with her new piece of kit onboard . She measures an overall length of 48.33 meters and her width is 11.02 meters.
