Southern Contracts appointed by Babcock International for £18M Royal Navy contract

BOURNEMOUTH based, Southern Contracts are again delighted to announce a further contract with Babcock International, who have secured an agreement with the Ministry of Defence, Defence Equipment and Support for the Asset Availability Service (AAS), involving the support and maintenance of Domestic Equipment fitted to Royal Navy ships and submarines.

As part of Babcock’s new 10 year contract with the MoD, Southern Contracts will be providing a further ten years of support to encompass the new £18 million contract for the provision of support to Domestics Master Equipment fitted aboard In-Service ships and submarines. They will be involved with the inclusion of new vessels and ongoing support thereafter. The work will support the availability and reliability of Galley and Laundry equipment on-board the Royal Navy fleet, to ensure they are always ready to deploy anywhere in the world.

Babcock will be working with Southern Contracts over the course of the programme,  building on their already strong relationship to support the wider UK supply chain.
