We’re excited to announce our appointment by PGL, after their acquisition of three new sites.
Previously operated by The Inspiring Learning Group (and operated by its subsidiary Kingswood) the three centres are :
Overstrand Hall in Cromer, Norfolk
Dearne Valley in Doncaster
Grosvenor Hall in Ashford, Kent.
We’ll be carrying out full surveys of all the laundry facilities across the three sites. We’ve been working with PGL for many years and are excited to learn of the latest acquisitions to their already thriving outdoor facilities.
Having carried out some research into the properties already, we must say we’re very much looking forward to visiting as they all have fascinating stories to tell – without exception!
#OverstrandHall is a country house in Overstrand, Norfolk, designed by Edwin Lutyens and built around 1900.
This period house is constructed with varying different materials, such as stone with half-timbering, flint with brick and tile, and Jacobean with classical, vernacular with Italianate in style. During the First World War, it was used as a military hospital.
#DearneValley was transformed into a state-of-the-art activity centre in 2012 having previously been the Earth Centre, a project of the Millennium Commission. The centre is environmentally sustainable, featuring one of Europe’s largest solar panels and an on-site water treatment plant.
With fantastic indoor and outdoor activity facilities surrounded by the beautiful countryside of South Yorkshire, a purpose-built water sports lake and access to the adjacent River Don, Dearne Valley is the perfect location for an outdoor adventure.
Set in the beautiful grounds of a former manor house in Ashford, Kent, #GrosvenorHall offers a huge range of activities as well as fantastic facilities and learning spaces.
Originally called Bockhanger Hall and built in 1875 by James S. Burra, a keen arborist. The name changed when the new owner transferred patients from a sanatorium called Grosvenor House in Sandgate, Kent. It has also been owned by the Metropolitan Police.
