TODAY is a remarkable milestone for Southern Contracts’ Chris Evenett as she celebrates 40 years of dedicated service with the Bournemouth-based company.

Joining the award winning company on this day 40 years ago, Chris became part of the family firm and has provided a constant and valued presence throughout four decades of change, growth and achievement.

Chris’s commitment, knowledge and professionalism have played an integral role in the 62 year old company’s success, earning her the respect of colleagues, clients and partners alike.

Over the past 40 years, Chrissy – as she’s affectionately known by her colleagues – has witnessed the evolution of the business and the industry, adapting to new systems, challenges and opportunities while remaining a trusted and dependable figure within the Southern Contracts team. Her experience and institutional knowledge make her a cornerstone of the organisation.

Starting in the Spares department, packing and despatching orders as well as auditing supplies to ensure enough stock was held for orders, she also manned the Trade Counter, which she still does on occasion today when that department’s staff are super-busy.

These days she has a ‘quieter’ life running the Accounts department for the company, juggling stock payments, which have increased thirtyfold.
