Following our ongoing work at HMS Collingwood, we’ve just completed the latest phase.
HMS Collingwood is a prestigious training establishment of the Royal Navy based in Fareham. As the largest training base, it serves as the home for Warfare and Weapon Engineering Training, including diving.
Its origins go back as far as 1748, when Lord Collingwood, a distinguished naval officer, took command of the British Fleet after Lord Nelson’s death at the Battle of Trafalgar.
In 1841, the first HMS Collingwood, an 80-gun wooden Man-o-War, was launched in Pembroke. Two further vessels were commissioned under the same name before the fourth and present HMS Collingwood was commissioned, in 1939, as a new entry training establishment for “hostilities only” ratings of the Seaman Branch.
HRH Princess Margaret opened the accommodation blocks in 1966, but these were later replaced by modern high-quality units for both male and female recruits.
With the obvious demands faced by the on-site housekeeping department, we recommended the robust @Electrolux Professional #WN6-200 washing machines and #TD6 dryers, all with extended 5 year warranties for peace of mind. This has been an ongoing project since the beginning of the year and the latest phase has just been completed across four of the sites on the complex.
It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with them.
