Southern Contracts is thrilled to receive the enviable JOSCAR accreditation.

Standing for the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register, JOSCAR provides a supply system for the aerospace, defence and security sectors and was established following an initiative led by ADS Group to include a growing number of prime contractors as registered buyers, including the MoD

JOSCAR is a cross-sector community which reduces the time, cost and resources and duplication needed to provide information to major buying organisations.  It provides a stress-free risk management that objectively assesses potential vendor risks, proportionality to products and services being provided and covers relevant areas of compliance.

By holding a common supplier central system, information can be accessed by all participating buying organisations, thereby giving wider market access.

After validation of the supplier information, it is published for the community to easily search, analyse and report upon.  All information is managed in stages depending upon the risk of supply and therefore the type of information and extent of validation required.  Risk is determined through a configurable automated risk-based heat map defined in consultation with the client.

Hugh Elphinstone, Director of Southern Contracts said: “There are clear benefits to purchasers using a JOSCAR registered supplier, not least when risk assessing their needs.  JOSCAR can reduce procurement timescales by accessing instant information from suppliers and provides the credibility required for peace of mind.  To be accepted onto the scheme, a supplier first has to be recommended by an existing member purchaser, so the basis of membership is on customer service already experienced.

“A very comprehensive application had to be completed before membership was accepted, but due to the high calibre and value of our contracts, it was worth it to illustrate to our customers our commitment to our exemplary service.” Hugh added.
